I am Professor of Electronics and Nanoengineering and EPSRC Research Fellow in James Watt School of Engineering at University of Glasgow, UK. I am the director of Electronic Systems Design Centre and the leader of Bendable Electronics and Sensing Technologies (BEST) group. I also hold Satish Dhawan Visiting Chair Professorship at Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
My multidisciplinary research interests include Flexible and Printable Electronics, Sustainable Electronics, Electronic Skin, Robotic Tactile System, Haptics, and Wearable Systems. I have published more than 350 research articles in journals or peer reviewed conferences, 2 book series, 7 books and 15 submitted/granted patents, and gave more than 140 keynote/invited lectures, including a TEDx talk. Recently, I established ‘Helping Hands‘ – a student club focussing on 3D Printed Sensitive Prosthetics. I have led or participated in many national/international projects worth more than £30M. These include: 2 EPSRC Fellowships, EPSRC Programme Grant, 2 Newton Fellowships, 7 Marie Curie Fellowships, 4 Marie Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN), FET-Open, and several industry projects.
I am IEEE Fellow, and President-Elect (2020-21) and Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Sensors Council. I am on the Editorial Boards of leading journals, have edited 10 Special Journal Issues and organised many international workshops/special-sessions.
